Gamers! if you have Nvidia GPU, you might want to delay installing the Windows 11 2022 update because, according to reports, this new update is causing severe performance issues with systems integrated with Nvidia GeForce graphics cards.
Nvidia users complain of massive lag, stuttering, unstable FPS, and a significant drop in CPU usage. In some cases, CPU usage has decreased from 80% to 5%. The problem seems to be related to game overlays because while playing a game, if you want to check its performance, a GeForce performance overlay pops up, and your game begins to stutter.
As reported by a user, simply closing the overlay solved the problem. At the same time, others have had to exit the game and completely disable overlays to resolve the issue. On the other hand, multiple users just went back to the last update of Windows to fix the issue.
According to Windows Latest, others users have also reported the occasional full system crash, audio glitches and the dreaded Blue Screen of Death.
According to Nvidia’s Manuel Guzman, the company is aware of the issue and has released a beta version of the GeForce Experience software package, which should resolve the slowdown issue. This beta release suggests that the issue is with Nvidia’s add-on software because when you download the GeForce driver without the GeForce Experience software, you may not notice any performance issues at all.
Nvidia publicly admits that the problem is caused by some of the Windows debugging graphic features. Nvidia will also provide with a non beta version of GeForce Experience 3.26 along with a new GeForce Game Ready Driver in the coming week. However, as a gamer, you may want to wait a few days before receiving any updates from Nvidia on how to resolve these gaming performance issues.
