Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2′ destroys records with its fastest-selling opening weekend worth $800 million.
According to a report from Barron’s, Activision has claimed that just the first three days after its debut, Modern Warfare 2 has sold copies worth $800 million. The series is acknowledged as the top-selling first-person shooter game series by Guinness World Records. Additionally, it has become the most popular video game franchise ever made.
The new Modern Warfare 2 has proved to be the most popular sub-series for newcomers. The early rollout of the campaign had everyone in awe of its lifelike graphics, which at times appeared to be practically indistinguishable from reality.
Additionally, now that multiplayer is available, that feature has also drawn a lot of players’ attention. Some have even argued that it outperforms Cold War and Vanguard as the best game in the series in recent memory. Perhaps even above the most recent Modern Warfare.
The success story began in 2003 when World War II-themed video games were the main focus. The games were initially created by Infinity Ward, followed by Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, the latest recent game, was released on October 28, 2022. Since its release, the new Modern Warfare 2 has undoubtedly become popular, but it hasn’t been without problems. The ping system has been temporarily deleted due to a glitch that allowed players to track enemies through barriers for the duration of full matches.
In addition, as it looks into why the mechanism was causing the game to crash, Infinity Ward has blocked the ability to tune several attachments.
