According to the financial report that Activision released, the business has stated that a new premium Call of Duty game will be released in 2023.
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier speculated earlier this year that Treyarch Games might delay the release of Call of Duty until 2024. It has also been said that Call of Duty won’t be getting new games yearly anymore.
Insider Gaming and other credible sources have heard similar statements from legitimate sources, but Activision’s financial report appears to refute this claim.
Many expect 2023 to skip a new entry in the series in favour of a large-scale DLC release for Modern Warfare 2 that will cost as much as a full game. In a tweet, Jason Schreier confirmed that the “premium release” is “more MW2,” as he had been saying before.
Schreier commented, “It is a continuation of Modern Warfare II. It is referred to as a complete premium release because it will likely be marketed and sold for $70 with additional single- and multiplayer content. However, it is more MWII.“
