Ubisoft has released a 20-minute YouTube video in honor of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, which turns 20 this month. In addition, the 2002 version of the game is currently available for free on PC.
Ubisoft announced a remake of the 2002 Xbox-exclusive action game splinter cell last December. The game is being rebuilt with the Snowdrop engine, which also powers The Division and Ubisoft’s upcoming Star Wars game, to introduce fresh aesthetics, gameplay, and dynamic lighting and shadows for which the series is known.
The story is being revamped as well. Creative director Chris Auty remarked, “It’s not simply a remaster,” in the latest anniversary video. “We’re starting from scratch and building everything to the highest standards. All the content will be produced by us from zero, so it will be top of the line”.
Ubisoft clarified that the remake is still in the initial phases of development, and no date or launch platform has yet been announced.
Along with that, Ubisoft is offering the original Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell game from 2002 for free on PC. The game is only available for purchase at the Ubisoft online store. You can get it for free if you claim it by November 30.
