Capcom has stated that the upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake will have a VR feature in the future, maintaining the company’s support of virtual reality in Resident Evil games.
Resident Evil 7 marked the series’ first major step into virtual reality, with a demo called “Kitchen” giving players a taste of the whole game from a different angle. That did remarkably well, especially considering how terrifying many people found it even without VR support, and the original Resident Evil 4 continued the pattern.
As development on the VR mode has just begun, it won’t be ready in time for the game’s release next month, but it will be made available as free downloadable content (DLC) when it’s done. Unfortunately, it appears that the PC versions of the game will not have native support for virtual reality (VR), with only the PS5 version supporting VR via the PS VR2 at this time.
The release date of the remake has been set for March 24th, so in less than a month, we should be able to get our hands on it. There will be no Xbox One support, however the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S consoles as well as the PC version will be available when it launches.
