Boundary, a multiplayer tactical first-person shooter set in space, will go live in Early Access on April 13 for PC via Steam, according to publisher Skystone Games and developer Studio Surgical Scalpels.
Beginning on April 13th, the game will be offered in three separate editions. Priced at $34.99 for the Deluxe Supporter and $44.99 for the Ultimate Supporter, the more expensive editions (or Founder’s Packs) are more expensive than the ordinary one, which is $24.99. Although further information wasn’t included in the press statement for the unveiling, both have limited edition cosmetics and bonuses.
The Early Access version will include a fully realized six-degrees-of-freedom zero-gravity experience, complete controller and mouse-and-keyboard support that is continually improving, a full progression system with 70 levels for players to go through, over seven highly detailed maps, and multiple classic game modes.
It provides players with daily, weekly, and monthly challenges, tools for reporting bugs and user feedback, party and voice chat systems for playing with friends and coordinating teams.
Boundary’s Early Access period will last six to twelve months, however this could alter depending on player feedback. Battle Pass and Shop systems, ranked server matchmaking, and AI/bot functionality will all be included in the full release.
In a press statement, Studio Surgical Scalpels director Frank Mingbo Li remarked, “We’re pleased to announce to our fans who have been waiting so long that Boundary is finally ready to be played by you all in April. We are eager for everyone to see the results of our labours over the past few years.
Boundary will also be released on the PlayStation 4, most likely when Early Access expires. Another game backed by PlayStation China Hero Project was Boundary.
Boundary is a next-generation, top-notch first-person shooter that takes place in space’s vacuum in zero gravity and has almost 500,000 wishlists on Steam. In Boundary, players collaborate to defeat adversarial forces in alluring, empty, outer space settings.
Players move through a harsh space environment in orbiting installations while wearing an EMU suit with the aim of engaging adversaries in combat in three dimensions. Boundary makes astronautical combat more comparable to dogfighting, where the angle of attack and position might mean the difference between life and death because threats come from all directions.
