Since 1994, EA has delivered the industry with the ultimate editions in the long-running Need for Speed series. With over 150 million copies sold, the franchise is among the most popular in the gaming industry.
Need for Speed Unbound is the next edition in the main series, and it was created by Criterion Games, the studio known for Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2010, and the Burnout Series. It will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
It was announced in October 2022 that the next major Need for Speed game, Need for Speed: Unbound, would be rolling out on December 2nd, 2022; fans were appreciative of EA’s efforts to minimize the wait as briefly as possible after the release of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered in 2020.
The release of Need for Speed Unbound is close, but gameplay footage has already started circulating. A YouTuber, “Mr. Carrot,” has uploaded more than an hour of uncut gameplay from Need for Speed: Unbound. The gameplay, ‘tactically’ called “Totally NOT need for speed unbound.
Mr. Carrot appears to have screen-recorded and re-uploaded the gameplay after it was leaked via a user who had early access to the game and had streamed it to Twitch.
The player rides a mini Beatle across Lakeshore City in the video, themed like Chicago. This is one of the beginning cars in Need for Speed Unbound that you will ultimately be able to sell or upgrade.
In the video, the player highlights the game’s “cartoony effects,” which have been the topic of much discussion ever since the game was first shown off, and then walks through the majority of the game’s customization options for your car.
At the time of writing, there has been no response from EA to the leak, and all of the videos and archived streams from each racer’s Twitch channel are still available online. It’s not clear if the streamers are violating embargoes or if they’ve just gotten their hands on retail copies early.
