EA‘s new gaming client EA App has just came out of beta and officially replacing Origin. According to EA, this is “fastest and lightest PC client to date” next-gen PC gaming platform.
This new client has overhauled design. It will allow users to download updates / new games in background while they are in-game. The best part of all this is, client can be linked with cross-platforms like Steam, Xbox and PlayStation to import friend list and play together.
Origin users will be given a notification soon to make a switch to new platform. All previously installed games, progress (including local / cloud saves), friends list and content will move onto the EA App without going extra mile. You just need to download new client and Login to your EA account.
EA App is available to download for Windows PC. MacOS will continue to run on Origin.
